A WOMEN’S WELLNESS WEEKENDGiven the stress in our daily lives, all women need the opportunity to nurture and indulge themselves, to relax and rebalance their minds, bodies, and spirits. They’ll have an exciting opportunity to do just that at the upcoming Women’s Wellness Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, February 22 and 23 at the Milwaukee Athletic Club. The event will feature an array of life-enriching activities and workshops conducted by local health, beauty, and exercise professionals. Options range from facial and skin care, to a healthy cooking demo by MAC’s Chef Zac, meditation, massage, yoga, spin, and strength and conditioning. Guest will learn about Ayurveda and Yoga — the 4,000 year old Sister Sciences defined as “The Knowledge of Life.” Ayurveda teaches you a fresh and different approach to a healthy lifestyle. Edie Starrett — Ayurvedic Consultant AHC, Certified Yoga Instructor E-RYT, and one of the event organizers — will educate participants on how this amazing science simplifies the balancing of mind, body and spirit. Women can even discover their purpose through their astrology charts. Other choices include Zumba, barre and boot camp for fitness. Outpost will provide a sampling of signature smoothies and Judy Meyer, Outpost nutritionist, will be available for consultation. “We designed the weekend to be entertaining as well as educational. Saturday’s luncheon will feature spring fashions by Faye’s and words of wisdom from professional weight loss author and life coach Jean Hausmann. Attendees can unwind even more while sampling wine and chocolate pairings and dancing to the tunes spun by Dori Lori, 88Nine Radio Milwaukee DJ.” said event organizers, Angela Topetzes and Arlene Remsik. It’s the perfect way to celebrate a new path to wellness, to spend a weekend with friends, or get away alone to meet new people and learn new skills. The cost for the two-day event is $249. All meals are included, and overnight accommodations are available at attractive prices separately.
